Alison Lyke, Pharm.D., M.D.
Global TA Section Head and Senior Medical Director, Dermatology
Dr. Lyke joined Parexel in 2021 and serves as Global Section Head and Senior Medical Director in the dermatology therapeutic area. Her primary area of expertise is medical dermatology, and she also has substantial experience in surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Recent clinical trial experience includes studies in psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, acne, chronic hand dermatitis, and rare diseases within the dermatology space.
As global section head of dermatology and senior medical director, she is responsible for the overall strategic plan and leadership of the dermatology therapeutic area, clinical development planning, protocol design, on-study medical monitoring, and review of clinical study reports for Phase I- IV clinical studies, as well and providing medical expertise to both clients and internal personnel.
Work experience
Dr. Lyke has over ten years of clinical dermatology experience in both private practice and large hospital systems. Dr. Lyke completed a fellowship in Drug Development and Clinical Research after she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She has experience in various stages of research, from preclinical studies to Phase IV clinical trials within both academia and the pharmaceutical industry.
Education
Dr. Lyke received her Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After completing an internship in Internal Medicine, she completed her Dermatology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. She is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
