Diana Hengartner, M.D., is a board-certified neurologist with fellowship training in Movement Disorders and broad clinical and research experience in Parkinson's Disease and related disorders. She serves as the medical lead for multiple projects across movement disorders indications within Parexel, emphasizing Parkinson's disease. She supports scientific, clinical, operational, and regulatory teams and contributes with her expertise to successfully implementing and completing clinical trials. Diana is passionate about research and drug development in Parkinson's disease and the pursuit of a life-changing treatment for patients suffering from this debilitating neurodegenerative condition.

Work Experience
Before joining Parexel in 2021, Diana was a Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders specialist in the academic setting, diagnosing and treating patients with Parkinson's disease, tremors, dystonia, Lewy body disease, ataxia, myoclonus, and other movement disorders. Diana is trained and skilled in many modalities of movement disorder treatment, including Deep brain stimulation,  botulinum toxin, focused ultrasound, levodopa continuous infusions, etc. She served as principal investigator, sub-investigator, and advisor on protocol design and implementation of investigator-initiated (observational, biomarker cohorts, scale validation, interventional clinical trials) and pharmaceutical clinical research studies. She has authored multiple book chapters and papers in the field of movement disorders. 

Education
Diana earned her degree as a Doctor of Medicine at the Surcolombiana University in Colombia, where she graduated first of her class. She completed her internship and neurology residency training at the University of South Alabama and 2-year clinical fellowship in Movement Disorders at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
