Nick May

In his current role as Senior Director, Clinical Operations, Nick is the Global Strategic Business Lead for Parexel’s Data Driven Monitoring (Risk Based Monitoring) approach. He is responsible for understanding and anticipating strategic, market and operational needs and translating those needs into effective and improved processes and technical solutions by coordinating resources across the organization.

Work experience

Nick possesses over 20 years’ experience in clinical research, project management and clinical operations. He has extensive international clinical research team management experience that is coupled with strong process improvement, strategic and commercial skills. He has consistently demonstrated proven successes in building customer relationships and managing multi-cultural teams in diverse geographies with multiple stakeholders. Finally, he has significant experience in the delivery of remote site monitoring and global central laboratory services on large global/multi-national studies, across many therapeutic areas.

Prior to joining Parexel in 2010, Nick worked at Quintiles UK Limited in Bracknell, England as Director, Project Coordination Centre where he was responsible for overall direction, line management and P&L accountability of $50m (US) pa clinical operations team in EMEA. There he planned, assigned and delivered remote clinical site monitoring for approximately 30 clinical projects, Phase III and IV, including mega projects (>500 sites), observational, non-interventional, and compassionate use projects. He also held roles of Manager, Project Management at Quest Diagnostics Clinical Trials in London, England and Clinical Trials Project Manager at Dr’s Mauff, Zail and Partners in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Education

Nick holds a M.Sc. in clinical research from Cranfield University in Cranfield, UK.
