Edina Tolnay, M.D., Ph.D.
Global TA Section Head, Lung/Head & Neck Cancer
Edina serves as head of Lung Cancer/Head and Neck Cancer Section of the Oncology-Hematology franchise at Parexel. Her areas of specialty are pulmonology, oncology and infectious diseases.
Work Experience
Before joining Parexel, Edina spent 20 years as a chest physician and 15 as clinical oncologist. She started her carrier at the University Clinic of Pulmonology Budapest and later held leadership positions in the Institute of Pulmonology, Törökbálint, Hungary. She has also served as senior consultant in German oncological departments and treated different solid tumors and hematological malignancies. She received a research fellowship of German Academic Exchange Service and worked on different research projects in angiogenesis in pulmonary and malignant thoracic diseases at German Mesothelioma Register.
In addition, Edina was a principal investigator in Phase II-IV clinical trials, covering pulmonology (bronchial asthma, COPD, pneumonia) and malignant chest disease (small-cell and non-small cell lung cancer and supportive therapy). She has also acted as a consultant expert to several leading pharmacological companies as member of their Advisory Board in Hungary in pulmonology and in onco-pulmonology.
Education
Edina holds an M.D. in pulmonology and a Ph.D. in angiogenesis in lung diseases and malignant pleural tumors from Semmelweis Medical University, Budapest. She also earned her master’s degree in health care administration management from Corvinus University, Budapest.
